Sira Beach House has been designed with the environment in mind. Great care was taken to maintain the existing mature palm grove, with the buildings carefully positioned between the trees. The materials and skills employed, including bamboo shingle and palm thatch for the roofs, river stone walls and coconut columns, were sourced locally where possible, and the hand-woven bamboo screens were made by local artisans. Furthermore, the house infrastructure is state of the art ecologically – the hot water is solar heated and the waste water is organically-treated and re-cycled for the lawns and the organic vegetable garden. The swimming pool, too, was designed to the best environmental practices: salt water, with a chlorination back up to maintain the highest standards. At Sira Beach House, we are committed both to preserve the natural beauty and balance of Lombok and its tranquil pace of life.
Conceived and designed by London-based Jane Taylor Designers with the help locally of Nexus Studio, Bali, the house is furnished with antiques and objets collected by Alistair, Lord McAlpine (Editor at Large of World of Interiors magazine). He says of the project "It was a joy to work on such a spectacular house". Together, the Naga rustic tables, elegant colonial chairs, masks from southern India and rare Indonesian textiles meld with modern pieces specially designed for the house by Jane Taylor to create an atmosphere of relaxed luxury
Feasibility studies aim to objectively and rationally uncover the strengths and weaknesses of the existing business or proposed venture, opportunities and threats as presented by the environment, the resources required to carry through, and ultimately the prospects for success. In its simplest terms, the two criteria to judge feasibility are cost required and value to be attained. As such, a well-designed feasibility study should provide a historical background of the business or project, description of the product or service, accounting statements, details of the operations and management, marketing research and policies, financial data, legal requirements and tax obligations. Generally, feasibility studies precede technical development and project implementation.
